Teen Engagement Program Registration

Times and additional details for Teen Engagement Program sessions will be provided at the Parent & Teen Welcome Event on September 14. Participants can expect up to a two-hour time commitment between 10am – 3pm at each Sunday session.

Year 1

Teen Engagement Year 1 participants (ages 13 & 14) act as a charitable foundation, learn about the variety of human challenges that effect the individuals and families that JFCS serves, understand the importance of giving back as a way of life, and work with their cohort to identify the impact of a grant.

Year 2

Teen Engagement Year 2 participants (ages 14 & 15) build on the values from the previous year, learning how to become passionate advocates for causes they care about as they decided where to allocate grant funds. They also develop skills as effective fundraisers by working together to plan and execute a successful fundraiser that supports JFCS programs.

Year 3

Teen Engagement Year 3 participants (ages 15 & 16) deepen their understanding of philanthropy as they write and formulate grants. In addition, participants learn about the sustainability of previously grant-funded programs and understand the workings of a nonprofit.

Leadership Board

Open exclusively to Teen Engagement graduates, the Teen Engagement Leadership Board members guide current TEP participants while sitting at the table as a trusted advisory body, bringing lived experience and necessary perspective to the decisions that shape the program's future. If you have not yet been accepted into the Leadership Board, please contact Brianna Torres for an application and interview.
